“Exciting, Stimulating, In-house Power-Up Training Solutions!”

Public workshops, courses and seminars can be a great idea if you only have one or two team members that you wish to train. Based on my experiences, I’ve found that most companies prefer to have the training run in-house and tailored to their business. This means that it can be carried out at a time and place that suits you and with the least inconvenience and disruption. The training needs to be exciting, stimulate new ideas and provide the latest information so you and your team go away at the end with useable real-life strategies that will make a true difference. All this is great of course provided that everyone acts upon what they have just learnt. Sadly, the reality is that most will pick at it and then revert back to their old ways – after all, it’s easier to do what you have always done, even if it doesn’t work!

“The Core Solution!”

The core solution to creating new success is to create new successful habits by “holding the participant’s hands and reinforcing the new habits” with new material, training and a new way of thinking, until it becomes ingrained and becomes a new habit. This is accomplished using several strategies, including:

  • Video
  • Audio CDs or MP3
  • Live Interaction
  • Follow-up coaching

The variety guarantees to appeal to everyone’s preferred learning style.

“A Case Study To Increase Communication and Drive A Team’s Performance!”

Recently we were asked to put together a Workshop program for a leading Australian time-share company.

The Brief

1. The brief was to create a teamwork-workshop program that would increase their communication and drive performance, which would be structured in such a way that the information would be remembered and put into action.

“Meet The Managing Director!”

2. After meetings with the Managing Director we looked at all their key issues, how they were interacting at the moment and worked out a strategy and the material to be used.

“The Executive Team Action Strategy!”

3. We then ran a workshop with the executive team. There was marked improvement in their performance, even though they were not necessarily working harder – just smarter. The key to its success was having multiple training experiences over a 90-day period. So for example they would have a training session for one day followed by a customised CD of the session that they could listen to while driving.

“90 Day… Personal Coaching Training Sessions & Support!”

4. A personal coaching meeting then followed this between training sessions with individual goals and action plans. This cycle was repeated for the subsequent training sessions in the 90-day period.

“The Outcome!”

5. Each time we were together we turned new learning experiences into games where they were competing with each other to forge new ideas, bond, increase communication and stimulate the team to drive performance. The games allowed for extended repetition, which created new, successful habits and helped cement them as a team in an innovative, fun and profitable way. Now, there’s no doubt leadership teams in general often face the same issues and are astounded when they realise just how easy it is to turn around challenges that have been holding them back.

“Below are just a few of the workshops and results we’re asked to deliver.”

  • Understand and appreciate the unique skills of each team member.
  • Working together in challenging situations for the good of the team and each member, not role playing and pretending
  • Knowing how to engage with your team more effectively and accurately
  • Leading and leaving with a clear vision on how to work together effectively
  • How to feel part of a cohesive, effective, high-performance team

As you can see, it’s amazing how often, just by changing a few small processes or behaviours, how drastically you can transform the results achieved by a team and the people within that team. When you are too close to a business it can be difficult to see what needs to be altered to get the best results. The starting point is to identify what the biggest challenges are with your leadership team.
